Months later…
A nice routine occurred for months. A pleasant lunch with Michael, an escort to her next class and an accompaniment to her bus after school. But today, she hasn’t seen him all day. The final bell rings. Stephanie walked to her bus slower than usual. She took her time to look around. She saw him. He ran up to her breathless.
“I caught you before you left. I made something for you in shop class.” He handed her something. His fingers brushed against her skin. The light touch felt electrifying.
“Thanks. What is it?”
“A leather bracelet.” He put it on her wrist.
“I wanted you to have something to remember me. I’m not coming back after the break.”
She gasped. “Why.”
“I’m leaving school.”
“You can’t.”
“I have to. I don’t have a choice.” He shook his head as if to clear his thoughts. “I will never forget you. You have changed me. Stay sweet.”
He leaned in closer her lips and left the sweetest kisses that heated up her insides.
“I’m going to miss you.” She said breathlessly.
